THE LOCKER ROOM

MATCHMAKING, RE-IMAGINED.

The online team play matchmaking lobby is designed to be the player's immediate, immersive entry point into the virtual hockey world. Upon entering, users aren't met with a static menu screen but a fully rendered, physics-based environment. Your created player is visible in third-person, actively engaging in pre-game rituals like adjusting gear, tapping sticks, and tying skates. The room leader will be able to cycle through jersey sets and will have total control over a complete and comprehensive list of search preferences. Each player will have instant access to their hockey bag, allowing for last-second cosmetic or equipment adjustments without breaking the immersion. A stat ticker at the bottom of the screen will display team and user statistics relevant to the chosen game mode. This shared, tangible space immediately fosters a sense of camaraderie and team identity even before the match officially begins.

PRESTIGE SYSTEM AND DYNAMIC PRESENTATION

The true innovation of the Locker Room lies in its connection to the in-game Prestige System which monitors the club's recent performance, win streaks, and overall success. The locker room itself becomes a live, evolving reflection of the team's status. For a club that has hit a rough patch, the atmosphere shifts dramatically: overhead lights may flicker erratically, the ambient sound design introduces the subtle, unsettling echo of water dripping from a leaky ceiling, and the paint on the walls might appear scuffed and faded. This visual and auditory feedback serves as a subtle yet powerful incentive, acknowledging the team's slump with an immersive, environmental cue—a subtle reminder that the "wheels are falling off". Conversely, a high-prestige, successful club enjoys a transformative upgrade: the room becomes spotless, bathed in crisp, high-definition LED lighting, features custom, team-branded rugs and wall art. This feature ensures that the locker room is never just a waiting screen; it's a dynamic status symbol that constantly reflects the emotional and competitive state of the user's club.
